In the 1970s nuclear proponents declared that the choice lay between nuclear power and 'drastic changes in lifestyle'. The Fissile Society: Energy, Electricity and the Nuclear Option, published by Earth Resources Research, explores the changes in lifestyle, and in human society, that may accompany increased dependence on nuclear power and the grid electricity it necessitates.

The Fissile Society appeared in 1977. Surely so much has changed already that a commentary three decades old must be long out of date.
